Red SparrowHawk Gyroplane Sold!

The amazing Sparrowhawk Gyroplane that we have had listed on our website has been sold! We are really excited for its new owner. He has already been out taking some lessons in it and is really enjoying this new venture. Two cool things about the new owner…He put a deposit on it and came out to purchase it before ever flying in a Gyro, and He is a Hot Air Balloon Pilot.

We do have a very nice white Gyro for sale and are still in the process of building a gold gyro that will be super nice. Let us know if you are interested.

I realize I haven’t been very active in keeping this blog updated, so I am going to try and do better. The only problem I have is that there aren’t really any good updates at the moment. Hopefully soon though. The Latest is that we sold our SparrowHawk that we have had on our site to Tony from Texas. He also had us order him an awesome decked out Trailer. I think he will really enjoy this machine.

That does leave us without a training machine for a while to we figure out something else. So the best option for training is if you have your own two place machine, Mike is willing to travel to train you at your place.

The best recent news is that Nate is getting Married on Saturday! We are all excited for him.

Utah Rotorcraft Association BBQ and Gyro flying!

We had a great time at the Utah Rotorcraft Association (PRA Chapter 2) get together this last saturday. We had SIX gyros there. I thought that was quite the accomplishment. Four of them were flying around after the BBQ. Some of those that joined us traveled from pretty far, so we appreciate being able to spend the day with them. We have some beautiful Gyros here and I think everybody who attended had a great time.

Sportcopter 2 Update!

So here is an update on the progress of the Sportcopter 2. The Lycoming engine version of the Sportcopter 2 has not yet been flight tested, but I know the subaru prototype SC2 has been torn down and is currently being put back together with they new engine and new cowling. The biggest challenge for creating the cowling for the new engine is that we went from a water cooled to an air-cooled engine. This wouldn’t have been a problem other than we have some really nice aerodynamic cowling over the engine which restricts the airflow to the engine. So Jim Vanek had to redesign the cowling to provide the necessary air for the engine to have optimal performance.

While they are getting the prototype ready to go, the guys at the Sportcopter factory are also making good progress on getting a couple of the first production Sportcopters together. I have a bunch of pictures that will show you some of the progress. The machines are looking great and we are grateful for our awesome customers who have been very patient. Your patience will pay off.

I haven’t done any posts about the Sportcopter 2 yet, mainly because I really don’t have a good update on the status of the aircraft. We will hopefully have a better update soon.
