Rotors over the Rockies coming up!

I just wanted to do a quick post to make sure everyone knows about Rotors over the Rockies. It is the Utah Rotorcraft Association’s fly-in / annual event for this year. It is going to be at the Brigham City Airport . It will be a good time for any who can come. Mike Burton our Cheif Pilot and Gyro CFI will be doing some forum presentations and most our crew will be there for the majority of the time. I hope that we are at a point that we can at least bring the SparrowHawk that we are building. I don’t think we will have it flying by then, but should be pretty close.

The Nicest Sparrowhawk Gyroplane….For Sale!

Building a SparrowHawk Gyroplane

So we have been without a Gyro of our own to train in for a couple months now. We sold our last Sparrowhawk. We have been trying to decide what to do. A couple weeks ago we decided to buy a SparrowHawk kit that was not completed. Well, it actually only had some of the frame together. So we are in the process of constructing a SparowHawk Gyroplane. We are excited to have this to work on for the next couple of months. When it is completed we will be giving instruction in it, but it will also be for sale. So if you are interested in either receiving instruction or buying a newly completed SparowHawk Gyroplane, give us a call.

I will try to post some construction pictures from time to time. Mike Burton is doing most of the building with the help of Nate here and there. It will be a very well built machine when it is done!

DA-20 returning to Service NEXT WEEK!

Finally some good news….We are sending Mike to go pick up our Da-20 Eclipse (Katana) airplane tomorrow (Thursday). We should be back in business on Monday of next week. So those that have been waiting for this plane to return, to either finish your private license, start or work towards your instrument or just to rent and have some fun, give me a call. We are excited to have it back in service.

On another note, the Outback 2 Light Sport Airplane is down for it’s annual inspection. That might take a week or two.

I realize I haven’t been very active in keeping this blog updated, so I am going to try and do better. The only problem I have is that there aren’t really any good updates at the moment. Hopefully soon though. The Latest is that we sold our SparrowHawk that we have had on our site to Tony from Texas. He also had us order him an awesome decked out Trailer. I think he will really enjoy this machine.

That does leave us without a training machine for a while to we figure out something else. So the best option for training is if you have your own two place machine, Mike is willing to travel to train you at your place.

The best recent news is that Nate is getting Married on Saturday! We are all excited for him.

Troy Atwood, a friend of all of us at Airgyro, was Married on September 19th in the Airgyro Aviation Hangar. It was a unique setting for a wedding ceremony. I thought the black shirt with the Airgyro Logo that Troy was sporting was pretty cool.

Utah Rotorcraft Association BBQ and Gyro flying!

We had a great time at the Utah Rotorcraft Association (PRA Chapter 2) get together this last saturday. We had SIX gyros there. I thought that was quite the accomplishment. Four of them were flying around after the BBQ. Some of those that joined us traveled from pretty far, so we appreciate being able to spend the day with them. We have some beautiful Gyros here and I think everybody who attended had a great time.

I love it when awesome wives (example: Karen Coon) give their husbands an awesome birthday present. Marc Coon was given an introductory flight in the SparrowHawk Gyroplane. From what I understand, he likes to try and fly with his Snowmobiles quite often, so this wasn’t way too out of his league. I think he got a little more hang time on this one though. He seemed like he had a fun time. Thanks for flying with us today.
